The Kennedy Bears lost against the Eden Raiders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Kennedy ended up on the wrong side of a tough 77-53 walloping at the hands of Eden. Kennedy has not had much luck with Eden recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Eden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taesyn Slating led the charge by dropping a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. Slating has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Mike Weyland was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Eden, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Buffalo Academy of Science at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Buffalo Academy of Science is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Eden, they will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cleveland Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Eden is ranked 210th).
