The Wayne Pioneers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took down St. Joseph Central 62-44. This was payback for Wayne, who suffered a 53-49 loss the last time these two teams met.
Isaac Meddings went supernova for Wayne, going 7 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 5 assists. Cooper Adkins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Wayne's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for St. Joseph Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Wayne will be playing at home against Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Joseph Central, they will head out on the road to face off against South Gallia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
