The Savage Warriors and the Culbertson Cowboys will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Savage is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
Savage stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Wibaux 56-28 on the road.
Meanwhile, Culbertson's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They put the hurt on MonDak [Westby/Grenora] with a sharp 56-33 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Culbertson has posted since December 15, 2023.
Nyreece Halvorson was on fire: he scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Dawson Bergum, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Savage's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Culbertson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Savage didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Culbertson in their previous meeting on January 5th, but they still walked away with a 42-36 victory. Does Savage have another victory up their sleeve, or will Culbertson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
