DME Academy Blue came into Thursday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 49-40 win over the Cocoa Tigers on Thursday. The -'s offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Cocoa lost, don't look at Gianna Conklin-Jones. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. What's more, Conklin-Jones also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Mya Drake, who had seven points.

DME Academy Blue's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Cocoa, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.
