Basketball Recap: Oak Hills Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Oak Hills extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Nathaniel Riep. The Oak Hills Highlanders strolled past the Durham Academy Cavaliers with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 52-38 thanks in part to Riep, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quin Frasher, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Wilcox, who had seven points.

Oak Hills is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Durham Academy, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Oak Hills will head out to take on Lakota East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oak Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Durham Academy, they will host Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte Country Day School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Durham Academy likes a good challenge.
