Creekview hasn't had much luck against Wakeland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 6:45 p.m.
On Tuesday, Creekview didn't have quite enough to beat Turner and fell 3-2.
Kelis Lee was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Lee was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was London Jenkins, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Wakeland's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let Highland Park get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Kayla Courcy, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Drake, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Wakeland's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Creekview, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Creekview hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Wakeland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Creekview might still be hurting after the 20-0 defeat they got from Wakeland when the teams last played back in March. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
