Redmond extended the longest winning streak in 5A Intermountain this week by beating Bend, 47-41. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Panthers.
The Lava Bears made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,814 from 8,439. The improvement came about via a 47-41 victory over Bend last week.
Jonah Koski threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns. He went 18-29 with one interceptions.
John Carroll was the best wideout in the league this week as Mountain View defeated Summit. Carroll tallied four receptions for 154 yards. Kyle Johnson helped Mountain View's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Kyle Shaver made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Cougars bested the Storm. The 6-foot-0 senior recorded one fumble and grabbed three sacks.
Kyler Ayers was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 154 yards as Mountain View topped Summit. Trevor Roberts also contributed to the rushing game with 18 yards on the ground.
Mountain View's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Toby Webb has thrown for 1386 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Carroll has 43 catches for 867 yards. Ayers leads the league in rushing with 1078 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Brian Crum's team takes on Redmond. The Cougars' offense has recorded 255 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Dan Elliott's team has permitted only 112 on the year.
Mountain View led the league in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on Joe Padilla's team. Webb threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
