The Cary Imps lost against the Panther Creek Catamounts back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Cary was beaten by Panther Creek 81-49. Cary has struggled against Panther Creek recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Cary's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luci Augustson, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Augustson scored a full 26.5% of Cary's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kyndall Brewington was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Cary has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Panther Creek, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cary will take on Apex at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Panther Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face Green Level at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Green Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
