The Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the Greeneville Greene Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Gatlinburg-Pittman's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Gatlinburg-Pittman has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Oneida 93-52 at home. Gatlinburg-Pittman's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Ty Glasper was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with six assists and three steals. The match was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Whaley, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Greeneville had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against Morristown-Hamblen West by a score of 59-48.
Gatlinburg-Pittman pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.8 points. As for Greeneville, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Gatlinburg-Pittman took their win against Greeneville when the teams last played back in November by a conclusive 80-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gatlinburg-Pittman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
