After a string of three wins, Deerfield's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Valley Christian Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2022.

Deerfield's offense was headlined by Riley Fisher and Libby Fisher, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Nevaeh Schears and her 11 assists. Libby was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Valley Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lydia Hardy out in front who had 17 assists and three digs. Another player making a difference was Aubryn Lehman, who had ten digs.

Deerfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Valley Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Deerfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Montello on the 30th. As for Valley Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Central Wisconsin Christian on the 30th.
