Choctaw Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 85-40 win over Leake Central at home. Given Choctaw Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Gators are ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Choctaw Central's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Leake Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
