Basketball Recap: First Academy Takes a Loss

First Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 51-25 to the Real Life Christian Academy Raptors. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, First Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rayce Teate posted seven points and four steals. Those seven points gave Teate a new career-high. Luke Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Chandler Leaman had an outrageously good game for Real Life Christian Academy as he went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Leaman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris LaSalle, who went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points.

First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Real Life Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

First Academy has already played their next game, a 64-61 loss against Hernando Christian Academy on the 27th. As for Real Life Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 78-37 win against Landmark Christian on the 27th.
