Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Solvay's Third in Last Four Outings

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Solvay and Marcellus meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Bearcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mustangs an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Solvay has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Marcellus, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Solvay will head out to face off against Mexico at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marcellus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Valley Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
