Basketball Recap: Windham RVT Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Windham RVT was riding high fresh off their 96-67 takedown of Harvard Ellis Tech last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Windham RVT Mighty Tigers took a 99-95 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grasso Tech Eagles. That makes it the first time this season the Mighty Tigers have let down their home crowd.

When it comes to explaining why Windham RVT lost on Friday, don't look at Brady Marsh. Despite the final result, he posted 40 points along with eight boards and six assists. Marsh's evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Tarascio, who scored 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Marsh wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Windham RVT was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive contests.

Grasso Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taqiyyi (Taki) Bates, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Bates is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Julius Washington was another key player, going 8 for 18 en route to 26 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Windham RVT's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3. As for Grasso Tech, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Windham RVT didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-43 win against Prince RVT on the 4th. Grasso Tech has also already played their next game (against Cheney Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
