Softball Recap: Southwest Christian School Wins Going Away Against Macarthur

Southwest Christian School never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the MacArthur Cardinals as the Southwest Christian School Eagles made off with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Evan Smith made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, Rachel Swenson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Karis Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Southwest Christian School has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. MacArthur is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4-1.

Coming up, Southwest Christian School will be taking part in a tournament against Paschal at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Southwest Christian School's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Paschal's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for MacArthur, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
