Mt. Hebron had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Hammond on Wednesday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Golden Bears with a sharp 13-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mt. Hebron's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Hammond, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Mt. Hebron will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wilde Lake at 4:00 p.m. The Wildecats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.63 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hammond, they will square off against Atholton at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
