Lakeland are packing up and hiking across state lines for their matchup on Friday. They will challenge West Valley on the road at Homecoming at 7:00 PM. Lakeland don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Lakeland took their contest against Timberlake last Friday by a conclusive 41-14 score. Lakeland were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, West Valley were able to grind out a solid victory over Clarkston, winning 23-14.
Their wins bumped West Valley to 4-1 and Lakeland to 3-2. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when West Valley and Lakeland clash.
