After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Henderson County, Gibson Southern was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the South Spencer Rebels with a sharp 10-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Miley Sperling made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Cummings, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. Emerson Walker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
