Cedar Valley is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Thursday. They will head out on the road to take on the Riverton Silverwolves at 3:30 p.m. Cedar Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Cedar Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against American Fork by a score of 7-4. The Aviators haven't had any issues with the Cavemen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Centry Lundberg got the start for Cedar Valley and what a start it was: she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Lundberg has posted since back in March of 2025.

At the plate, Cedar Valley let Mariah Hights and Aspen Langi run wild. Hights went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI, while Langi went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Those five RBI gave Hights a new career-high. Jeslyn Collins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Cedar Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Riverton came out on top against West Field on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fourth inning. The Silverwolves put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Silverwolves have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Lindsey Strieby looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jaydan Bushman was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Maggie Hamblin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Cedar Valley's record now sits at 7-3. As for Riverton, their record is now 7-0.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedar Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Riverton struggles in that department as they've averaged .497. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
