Softball Recap: Westwood Gets the Win

While Westwood's victory against Skyline wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Coyotes 13-11. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Navi Brinkerhoff was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie Saucedo, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Westwood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Westwood's win bumped their record up to 9-10-1. As for Skyline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Westwood will welcome Dobson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Skyline, they will head out to face off against Valley Vista at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
