Softball Recap: Wolfe County Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Wolfe County waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Leslie County Eagles 15-5. Considering the Wolves have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Sami Noble made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last four games.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Stone, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kenzie Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wolfe County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leslie County only posted an OBP of .292.

Wolfe County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Leslie County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.

Coming up, Wolfe County will be playing in front of their home fans against Elliott County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leslie County has already played their next matchup (against Middlesboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
