The Cabrillo Conquistadores lost to the Morro Bay Pirates back in December of 2022, but the Cabrillo Conquistadores didn't allow the Morro Bay Pirates the same satisfaction on Friday. Cabrillo walked away with a 56-44 win over Morro Bay.
Despite the loss, Morro Bay still got an impressive performance from Jake Falat, who scored 18 points. The matchup was Falat's third in a row with at least ten points. Jonas Smith was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Cabrillo's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Morro Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Cabrillo will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bakersfield at 11:30 a.m. on December 1st. Bakersfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Morro Bay, they will square off against River City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. River City is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.5 points per game.
