The Mission Eagles will head out to face off against the Nixon Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Mission turned things around against Cigarroa on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Toros with a sharp 13-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Daniela Perez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, getting three hits from her three at bats.
In other batting news, Maddie Garcia was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Cyrielle Milan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Mission always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cigarroa only posted an OBP of .440.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nixon). They were the clear victors by a 23-10 margin over Juarez-Lincoln on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Nixon got a massive performance out of Alexa Guerrero, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Rodriguez, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Mission's record is now 11-7. As for Nixon, their record now sits at 15-8.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mission has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .533. However, it's not like Nixon struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mission got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February against Nixon by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
