Tug Valley is 8-2 against Van since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will head out to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Tug Valley's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
Tug Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Huntington by a score of 10-7.

Bailee Hall was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Hall, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Van was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Mingo Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since March 27th.
Layla Albright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Calli Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Piper Austin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Tug Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Van, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
Everything went Tug Valley's way against Van when the teams last played back in March, as Tug Valley made off with a 14-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
