3A Region I District 8 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Gatesville extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region I District 8 this week by beating Lampasas, 33-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Liberty Hill's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Wells threw for 25 yards and Jesse Perez had 15 yards receiving. On the ground Will Fromme chipped in 131 yards.
Liberty Hill's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wells has thrown for 147 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Joseph Dudgeon has three catches for 54 yards. Perez leads the league in rushing with 766 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Brownwood. Liberty Hill is currently in third, while the Lions are in fifth.
Jerry Vance's team led 3A Region I District 8 in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Llano. Fromme in the win.
