After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Burlington Christian Academy, the Cristo Rey Research Triangle Bulls were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They strolled past Carolina M with points to spare, taking the game 57-43. That's another feather in the cap for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cristo Rey Research Triangle's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamaal Miller, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zion Dix, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Carolina M still got an impressive performance from Jahmari Smith, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Marshall, who scored two points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Cristo Rey Research Triangle's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Carolina M, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Cristo Rey Research Triangle will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bulls in North Carolina (the Patriots are ranked 263rd, while the Bulls are ranked 566th). As for Carolina M, they will head out on the road to challenge the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
