After flying high against Grace Christian Academy on Monday, Brentwood Academy came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Franklin Road Academy Panthers on Thursday. Despite the defeat, Brentwood Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Harper Broyles had 27 digs and two aces. Broyles is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin Road Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cheyann Franklin, who had 18 digs and three aces. Those 18 digs gave Franklin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Sullivan, who had 19 digs and one assist.
Brentwood Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Franklin Road Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Brentwood Academy has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against North Cobb on the 12th. As for Franklin Road Academy, they will head out to face off against University School of Nashville at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
