The Plainfield Quakers are taking a road trip to  challenge the Whiteland Warriors  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Plainfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5  runs per game  this season.
Plainfield came into their game  on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against  New Palestine, falling  10-2. The pitching woes were  uncharacteristic for the Quakers, who until this  game were averaging 3.17  runs allowed.
  Ayva Mayes was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That  stolen base was  her first of the season.
 Meanwhile, Whiteland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   14-13 W against the Bull Dogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Warriors have posted  since May 7, 2024.
 Whiteland now  has a winning record of 3-2. As for Plainfield, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 5-1.
 Everything went Plainfield's way against Whiteland in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, as Plainfield made off with  an  8-2 victory. Do  the Quakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
