Jupiter has gone 8-2 against Wellington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Jupiter Warriors will head out to square off against the Wellington Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Jupiter will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Jupiter took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against American Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Jupiter sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over American Heritage on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 30, 2024.
Braedon Hopkins looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colton Schwarz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ryan Senecal, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, everything went Wellington's way against Monarch on Monday as Wellington made off with a 10-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Lucas Bratten made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bratten was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).
Bratten wasn't the only one making solid contact as nine players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cristian Goncalves, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Foster Solomon also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Wellington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Jupiter pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Wellington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Jupiter beat Wellington 9-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Does Jupiter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wellington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
