After only 12 points in their last matchup, Laney made sure to put some points up on the board against Hephzibah on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 32-12 margin over the Rebels. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-0.

Despite the loss, Hephzibah still got an impressive performance from Reante Byrd, who threw for 93 yards and two TDs on only eight passes.

The win got Laney back to even at 1-1. As for Hephzibah, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coming up, Laney will square off against Putnam County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. After each having a week off, Hephzibah and Aquinas will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. The game will give the Rebels their first taste of in-conference action this season.
