Section 9 AA-I recap November 13, 2013
Monroe-Woodbury extended the longest winning streak in Section 9 AA-I this week by beating Newburgh Free Academy, 31-30. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Monroe-Woodbury and the Goldbacks played the most contested game in the league this week, with Monroe-Woodbury eventually emerging with a 31-30 victory. Kevin Carr threw for 195 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 148 yards in the win.
Bernie Connolly's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Carr contributed 148 yards. Ricky Giraldo helped Monroe-Woodbury's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 86 yards.

Kingston's Pat Dorrian and Shawn Marchant have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Dorrian has thrown for 2,012 yards this season, while Marchant has 63 catches for 1,045 yards. Pine Bush's Mike Martin leads the league in rushing yards with 1,515.
The Tigers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,642 from 5,794.
