The Cactus Shadows Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Combs Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Cactus Shadows is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Cactus Shadows' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Thunderbird with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Henry Verhamme made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Grayson Headon looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, Dominic Ziccarelli was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Konerko, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Cactus Shadows kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Combs was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marcos de Niza. The Coyotes have struggled against the Padres recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.
Combs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Rubio, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Cactus Shadows' record now sits at 4-0-1. As for Combs, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cactus Shadows has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Combs struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
