Poyen have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will square off against Mountain Pine at 7:00 PM. Poyen strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 36.5 points per game.
Poyen have to be aching after a bruising 20-41 loss to Quitman last Friday. Poyen got a solid performance out of senior Jacob Farmer, who picked up 73 yards on the ground and accumulated 149 passing yards; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. If you haven't heard Farmer's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past three games.
Meanwhile, Mountain Pine put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They blew past England 44-12. The rankings were on Mountain Pine's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Mountain Pine's win lifted them to 5-3 while Poyen's defeat dropped them down to 5-3. In their win, Mountain Pine relied heavily on junior Collin Smith, who rushed for 114 yards and 1 touchdown. Poyen will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
