The Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan Seahawks lost against the Hot Springs Bison back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan was outmatched by Hot Springs on the road and fell 55-7. Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Drake Gustafson rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown. Taite Klumb was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Kean Stevenson rushed for 33 yards.
Camron Maciejewski continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hot Springs, rushing for 214 yards and five touchdowns on only ten carries. Maciejewski's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another big playmaker for Hot Springs was Braden Peterson, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan to a paltry 183 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Hot Springs' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Caleb Rickenbach and his two sacks.
Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.3 points per game. As for Hot Springs, the win was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hot Springs will head out on the road to face off against Sioux Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sioux Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
