The Chippewa Hills Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight defeat. They were beaten by Grant 58-23. While losing is never fun, Chippewa Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while Grant is ranked 113th).
Despite the loss, Chippewa Hills saw an underclassman step up: Kiara White dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. That was a full 43.5% of Chippewa Hills' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chippewa Hills' defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Grant, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Chippewa Hills will head out on the road to face off against Shepherd at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chippewa Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday. As for Grant, they will be playing at home against Holton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
