Baseball Recap: Cedaredge Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Cedaredge barely beat Meeker the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bruins beat the Cowboys on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Makai Salazar was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Cedaredge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jencyn Decker, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Cedaredge and bumps their season record up to 12-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Meeker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11-1.

Looking ahead, Cedaredge will take on Olathe at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Meeker, they will face off against Rangely at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.13 runs per game on average), something the Cowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of.
