The Legacy School of Sport Sciences Titans will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the San Marcos HomeSchool Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Legacy School of Sport Sciences will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 349th, while San Marcos HomeSchool is ranked 64th).
Legacy School of Sport Sciences pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between Legacy School of Sport Sciences and Episcopal wasn't particularly close, with Legacy School of Sport Sciences falling 71-57. Legacy School of Sport Sciences was down 58-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Legacy School of Sport Sciences got a solid performance out of Simran Williams, who scored 17 points. Brittney Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, San Marcos HomeSchool came tearing into Saturday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Christian Homeschool Sports Ministries by a score of 56-49.
San Marcos HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Hurta led the charge by scoring 23 points. Hurta hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Beck, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Legacy School of Sport Sciences dropped their record down to 6-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for San Marcos HomeSchool, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
