The Taylorsville Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Hunter Wolverines at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Taylorsville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Kearns on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won nine in a row.
Tianna Hansen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hansen was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Amari Aguila was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Karli Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Taylorsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hunter). They blew past Skyline 20-2 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
LEILA AIONO made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Hunter got a massive performance out of KENYA LAPUAHO, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was LOIANA IONGI, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Taylorsville's record now sits at 8-4. As for Hunter, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
Taylorsville took their win against Hunter in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
