The Discovery Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mulberry, falling 59-26. Discovery was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mulberry apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Lorianys Castanon Cruz went supernova for Mulberry, scoring 40 points. The contest was Castanon Cruz's third in a row with at least ten points.
Discovery has fallen quite a ways from their 17-5 record last season and are now at 1-5. As for Mulberry, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Discovery will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Four Corners at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Four Corners focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Monday. As for Mulberry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sebring at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Sebring focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
