Ridgeview Global Studies Academy found their leader in freshman Stephanie Morales, who went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points plus six rebounds and four steals. Morales is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Flynn, who scored nine points in addition to two steals.
Meanwhile, Auburndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakeland Christian.
Despite the loss, Auburndale had strong showings from Makyla Jones, who earned 18 points, and Aleecia Pollard, who earned 17 points. Another player making a difference was Journey Cummings, who scored five points.
Auburndale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
