The East Alton-Wood River Oilers will take on the Dupo Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
East Alton-Wood River barely beat Metro-East Lutheran the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Oilers put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-3 victory on Thursday. The Oilers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10th (when they won 13-3).
Ellie Beachum was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
