Baseball Recap: Raleigh Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake, Raleigh was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Pelahatchie Chiefs. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won four in a row.

Ryder Ivy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has become a key player for Raleigh: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Raleigh's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Eason, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Eason has posted since back in February of 2024. Connor Adcock was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Raleigh back to even at 7-7. As for Pelahatchie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Raleigh will square off against Pisgah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pelahatchie, they will challenge McLaurin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. McLaurin has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.36 runs per game on average), something Pelahatchie will no doubt try to take advantage of.
