The Clearfield Falcons put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Springville 53-34. Given Clearfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Springville is ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Clearfield to victory were Xiyah Yarbrough and Isabelle Wyaskett. Yarbrough scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals, while Wyaskett scored 21 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Wyaskett continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Nevea Cordova was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Clearfield pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Springville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearfield will square off against Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springville is on the road again on Thursday and play against Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Pleasant Grove is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.5 points per game.
