Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Westminster Academy walked away with it. They blew past the Lions 81-60. Westminster Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Westminster Academy relied on the efforts of Alex Constanza, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, and Alexander Lloyd, who scored 30 points along with three steals. Lloyd has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Police, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Miami Country Day waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 91-67 margin over NSU University. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Herbert Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 33 points, 17 rebounds, and ten assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Miami Country Day's points. Another player making a difference was Daltyn Simon, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Westminster Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Miami Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
