The Calhoun County Saints entered their tilt with the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Calhoun County walked away with a 55-47 win over Ridge Spring-Monetta on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Calhoun County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Kerron Scott, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Theron Cokley, who scored 12 points.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Bosket, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Bosket has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last five times he's played. Tavin Rodney was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Calhoun County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.
Calhoun County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Williston-Elko at 8:00 p.m. on February 8th. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they will play host again and welcome Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, where tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Ridge Spring-Monetta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
