Fairview has gone 9-1 against North East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Tigers will host the Grape Pickers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fairview has five straight wins, North East has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Fairview made easy work of Corry and carried off a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jake Milam looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Robert Benford was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Andrew Stevens, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Girard hit North East with a five-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grape Pickers took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets.
Jerek Turlij was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of North East's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Cornman, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
North East's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Fairview, their win bumped their record up to 5-0-1.
North East's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .420. It's a different story for North East, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Fairview's hitters?
Everything went Fairview's way against North East in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Fairview made off with a 13-3 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grape Pickers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
