Napoleon has gone a perfect 9-0 against Addison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Addison will be up against a hot Napoleon squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Pirates' pitcher stepped up to hand Olivet a 13-0 shutout on Friday. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly 13 runs.
Napoleon got a massive performance out of Camryn Smilowski, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Marker, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Napoleon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Addison can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They put the hurt on Bellevue with a sharp 17-6 win. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Emily Lappan made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Lappan was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Nevaeh Edison was incredible, firing off three triples, seven RBI, and two runs while going 5-for-5. Those three triples gave her a new career-high. Addison Harris also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
The victory got Napoleon back to even at 7-7. As for Addison, their record is now 2-9.
Everything went Napoleon's way against Addison when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Napoleon made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
