On Wednesday, the Stranahan Mighty Dragons didn't have quite enough to beat the Cypress Bay Lightning and fell 30-28. The Mighty Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cypress Bay was led to victory by Elwood Higgs and Jake Balanovich. Higgs rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, while Balanovich rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Those 178 rushing yards gave Higgs a new career-high. Santi Paz also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.
Stranahan's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Cypress Bay, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
