North Union has gone a perfect 4-0 against Fairbanks recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
North Union is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Northmor get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Leah Cox was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Cox was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, North Union got a massive performance out of Kennedy Harrah, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Harrah a new career-high. Kale Keigley was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
North Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fairbanks had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They came out on top against the Johnnies by a score of 3-0.
The result came thanks to Macy Kise's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jenna Dee was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Fairbanks' record now sits at 21-2. As for North Union, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Union hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Fairbanks struggles in that department as they've averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Union was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairbanks in their previous matchup back in April of 2016, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
