Softball Game Preview: Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors vs. First Baptist Academy Eagles

Christian Academy of Knoxville has gone 8-1 against First Baptist Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Warriors will head out to take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Christian Academy of Knoxville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Christian Academy of Knoxville earned an 8-5 victory over Farragut. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Emily Bogoski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sophie Carroll, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Halle Bedwell was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Carroll wasn't the only one making solid contact: Christian Academy of Knoxville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but First Baptist Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Concord Christian 8-7. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

First Baptist Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, their record is now 12-4.

Christian Academy of Knoxville took their victory against First Baptist Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
